Currently, CATA has put forth a proposal to build a Bus Rapid Transit system in the Capital Region that would more efficiently connect travelers from the Capitol to the Meridian Mall.

Currently CATA is putting finishing touches are being put on a grant application that will hopefully get the project $90 million in federal transit money to help build the system and repair the roads along the new line.

There is a significant amount of support for the project, but a vocal group has raised levels of opposition in the area based on misinformation. Be sure to spread the facts about the BRT.
